Why We Prefer Audi S8
After parting with the Chrysler 300C SRT8, the question arose – what to drive next? When trying to determine the direction of the search for the next car, it became clear that:
1. It must be more or less a sports car.
2. After 5 years of owning a roaring 6.1 liters, life can force you to change to something reasonable 2-3-liter, but you don’t want to do this of your own free will. So at least 5 liters for sure.
3. V8. Calm, confident traction, as if carried forward by a giant, from the lowest mark of the tachometer – it’s hard to get used to it.
4. I have a family, height 189, weight approx. 110 kg. The previous car, with its insane character, was a full-size sedan, with a large leather interior – it was a car for life, for all its sporty nature. I would like to keep this.
5. Stock. It should be a fast car, but quiet, in full factory performance. For five years, every day I drove a car, the approach of which in the office was heard by subordinates from a block away. The rumble, the shaking from the engine, the smell through the exhaust without catalysts, the instability of idling and low revs, riding like a wild horse – I loved it, but I was a little tired of being the hero of the Mad Max movie every day. Even your favorite food can fill you up.
6.Not American. Still (maybe this is age) – I wanted materials in the cabin, sound insulation, downed suspension, taxiing, cultural gaps in body parts
7. Low purchase cost. I wanted to, if I wanted to add money, not to burden myself by getting into a significant financial enterprise.

Anyone who reads the list will understand that we are probably talking about German cars. I understood it the same way.
I needed a German, sedan, fast, large and spacious, at least 5 liters. V8.
The choice is clear here:
— BMW 750
— Mercedes S500
–Audi A/S 8
The first two disappeared immediately after studying the issue of the average state of copies on the secondary market, and the diseases of these models.
The third option had a nice image (I always liked Audi more than the other members of the big three), relatively greater reliability, and a better book value / cost of ownership ratio.
In the S variant, this is also an interesting v10 motor.
It was decided to look for S8 D3

What was looking for
1. One owner
2. Transparent history
3. The owner is as neat as me. This should be visible on the car immediately
4. Restyling
5. Most fresh year
It did not work out right away – there are much more cars on the market than the Chrysler 300 SRT, and there are plenty of rolled copies.
I looked for a long time, even before the sale of his 300th.
Finally I got lucky.
I have found
Audi S8 D3 5.2 V10 restyling.
One of the last cars in the generation – 2010 release.

One owner. Russian, German citizen, businessman. who lived in Hamburg, bought it in a car dealership new in 2011 for 178,000 euros.
Until 55,000, the car lived and drove in Germany.
In 2015, he moved back to Moscow, cleared her at the full cost (about 40,000 euros) and she began to live here.
Service only in Audi Center Taganka and Audi Center Vostok. a week before the transfer of the car into my hands, the owner did MOT.
Mileage 89,000 upon purchase.
Service book, all keys, all documents from the very purchase of the car. Regular visits to detailing centers.

Features
The car was flashed by an official dealer in Hamburg upon purchase. The owner claims that about 500 forces with passport 450. Of course, I didn’t measure it myself, but it flies forward very well. Even after SRT — just like how.
The body is covered with ceramics and shines and has virtually no cosmetic flaws. The exception is the triangular moldings of the rear windows eaten by the regents (or sinks) – brushed steel. But this is for everyone. I will change.
The interior has been taken care of regularly and is in excellent condition.
Options – everything that was offered for money at the time of purchase, except for the leather top of the torpedo. Ceramic brakes, Bang & Olufsen, solar sunroof, closers, contour lighting and more.
What will happen to her
Nothing will happen to her. I will serve and love. Tuning such cars is a bad form. The main task of the owner, in my understanding, is the preservation of the state, both external and technical.
It is clear that her reliability will probably not be the same as that of the SRT. But let’s see. In my experience reliability is an interactive concept. The machine pays for the relationship.
Hope it goes well for both of us.
